Modern Impressionist Oil Painter
Eileen has painted with many well known artists and has studied at the Cape Cod School of Art in Massachusetts. She has painted on location on Long Island, Cape Cod, Connecticut, Maine, California, Florida and many places throughout her travels. She has been in one person shows and many group exhibits. Her work has always been displayed in museums and many galleries. One of her paintings was in the movie, “Mystic River”.
She has donated many of her oil paintings to very deserving causes because she feels art is a gift that should be shared by others. Stony Brook College Math Department is a recipient of a beautiful painting as well as Mather Memorial Hospital. Eileen has won several awards to include the “Grumbacher Silver Medal Award”. She has been listed in Who’s Who in America for about 6 years and is an associate member of the Oil Painters of America.
Eileen currently owns a 1888 restored chapel on the North Fork of Long Island, NY and a home in Belhaven, North Carolina. Her art studio is in Bath, NC where she continues to teach drawing and painting.
She was a founding member of the “the Long Island Plein Air Painters Society”, a group of 8 artists whose mission it was to paint en plein air and interact with the public. Her paintings were shown for sale for over 20 years in the well known yet now closed Chrysalis Gallery in Southampton. Her work is being represented by William Ris Gallery in Jamesport, L. I. and the Reboli Museum in Stony Brook, NY.
